Former Brand Development and Corporate Affairs Director at Virgin

Having joined Virgin Group at the time of the October Stock Market crash of 1987, Will was responsible for all public relations activity relating to the buyout of the Group from the stock market in 1988 (one of the few successful buyouts of the decade).

Will helped to grow the Virgin Brand globally, acted as spokesman for Sir Richard Branson and coordinated branding, marketing, PR and current affairs across the group of investments and businesses.

In 2000 he was appointed Brand Development and Corporate Affairs Director of Virgin world-wide and became one of the 7 directors responsible for managing Virgin's unique venture capital portfolio of global businesses through its Investment Advisory Committee.

In addition to his full time role at the Virgin Group, Will was appointed President of Virgin Galactic LLC in 2004, he established and recruited for the project to build the world's first human carrying commercial spacecraft.

In 2007 he took on that role in an executive capacity and became a special advisor to Sir Richard Branson. He also became a trustee of the Virgin Unite social entrepreneurship and environmental not for profit foundation. At that time he resigned from the Investment Advisory Committee and other Virgin developments with the exception of Virgin Rail Group where he remained a non-executive director.

Will retired from Virgin Galactic at the start of 2011 to concentrate on other business interests. He is currently Chairman of Next Fifteen Communications and Loewy Group Ltd. In addition he sits on the boards of the SECC in Glasgow and ILN Group in London . He is a member of the British Government's Science and Technology Facilities Council and The Space Leadership Council.

In December 2010 he was awarded the Royal Aeronautical Society Space Medal for his services to the industry and in October 2013 he was appointed a Fellow of The Royal Aeronautical Society at the invitation of the President.
